Official Launch

A ground-breaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on November 6, 2019, by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and WMH, establishing it as the sole entity responsible for managing official Masters hockey.

The initiative was pushed by the FIH to unify masters hockey (ages 35+) and grand masters hockey (60+) under one organization, replacing the previous separate bodies (IMHA and WGMA) to create a single, cohesive structure within the global hockey community.

World Masters Hockey (WMH) Ltd was incorporated in Scotland on October 24, 2018, before its official launch in 2019.

The first general assembly of the new organization was held on August 2, 2019, in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
WMH now manages international tournaments for both men and women across various age groups, from Over 35s to Over 80s.
